Note: One of the "Entertainers of Holodrum"
Name: Seren
Age: 21
Gender: male
Race: human
Height: 6'2"
Weight: thin
Weapons: sabre-style rapier
Occupation: guard, teamster, acrobat
Description: Short and messy black hair and hazel eyes, pale skin and full lips. When he performs, Seren wears a white "indian-style" headband to keep his hair out of his eyes and white fringed clothing with a wide red sash. This costume carries three knives that he can produce with rapidity, one obvious and somewhat ornate one in the small of his back, held by the sash, one underneath the left side of his fringed jacket; and one tied to the inside of his right calf. The ornate one he often draws during shows with Rishu, when they juggle together. More often he wears a short sleeved black jacket and a low-collared black tank over loose black trousers tucked into plain black boots (although he hated the man who made him wear the boots originally, they're practical and he's used to them). His belt is a plain black one, and he can come up with a black "newsboys" cap when he wants it. This costume has the following knives: One attached to each calf, hidden under the cuff of his boots. Two strapped to his lower back under the jacket, crosswise for ease of drawing. These are his main fighting knives. He also carries the ornate one on his belt next to his sabre. There are also four very small throwing knives taped to the insides of his upper arms, and two six-knife bandoliers of throwing knives on each side of his jacket.
Vehicles: Access to Decorated Wagon, Open Cart, and two strong ponies.
Personality: Loyal to a fault, protective of Lena mainly and the other members of the troupe. Has a quick temper but can keep it in check. Very little is revealed on his face, and he is an excellent swordsman who keeps in practice. He has serious trust issues, and the only person he confides in is Lena or, very rarely, Barott. Rarely sleeps, and when he does it is severely troubled by memories not well hidden. He likes to play on his violin when he is hit with a bad memory, but Jovhan doesn't have him play for an audience because he has such a haunting, sad air and when he plays something happy, it always sounds slightly off.
History:
The troupe began when Johvan and Rishu left their home with one horse and a fiddle after Johvan's wife died and they couldn't keep up with the farm. Rishu was 4. They made money by Johvan's fiddle and knowledge of folk-songs, and Rishu's sheer cuteness. In one city, a pair of orphaned girls in search of adventure tagged along and discovered they liked to dance and do acrobatics. The four pooled their money and bought an open cart and another horse.
They met a man singing in the main courtyard of Holodrum Castle Town one night after a performance. Barott wasn't attracting a big enough crowd to be a threat, but something in his face prompted Johvan to invite him into the troupe. Barott doesn't talk much, and it is often assumed that he doesn't know very much of the language,
About a year later, they met a beautiful dancer named Din, who reminded Johvan of his long-lost wife. Then a woman named Impa, a friend of Din's, became their cook, and finally a boy named Link appeared nearby. He was a good swordsman and deft acrobat. Plus, he was cute. With Din and Link on the troupe, they made more money than ever before. But, Din, Impa and Link were called away by fate, and the troupe set off for new parts.
One night, a boy and girl on a single horse came riding up to their campfire, dressed in strange attire - pirate-style costumes, with real swords. They were bruised and battered, exhausted beyond complete sanity. Mel quickly patched them up, and through the next weeks, the troupe learned that their names were Lena and Seren, and they had come from a very messed up realm where an old man had had a nightmarish control over them both. Slowly they recuperated, although they both still suffer from nightmares.
Now the seven are inter-realm travelers, traveling from all the different lands that they can find.
Abilities: Calming effect on animals, advanced fencing and sabre-work, can also fight with knives if necessary, plays violin, poker face.
Known Strengths and weaknesses: If Lena is put in danger, Seren will do anything to get her to safety.
